American-Armenian Raffi Krikorian is among the top leader s of world technology development. He is the Director of Uber Advanced Technologies Center (ATC) in Pittsburgh, the company’s main facility for testing self-driving vehicles.

“I think this technology will make travel by vehicles safer,” Raffi Krikorian told VoA.

Due to Raffi Krikorian and his team, self-driving vehicle is not a fairy tale or a future project, but reality. Uber riders in Pittsburgh can get a glimpse of the future by summoning a car capable of handling most of the tasks of driving on its own. Raffi doesn’t forget his Armenia roots,

“Once a year I organize a conference in Armenia devoted to technological and engineering solutions, the next one will be held in October.”

Raffi, who also currently serves on the board of directors of the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in Yerevan, supports the youth to reach success in the field of innovative technologies, or as he says “think beyond the borders”.

Raffi Krikorian stresses, that Armenia’s youth should have their peculiar role in global progress,

“If you go to Tumo Center and speak to the youth there, or if you go to American University of Armenia, you’ll see that they start to realize what it means to take part in the life of global society, start developing new products, share ideas with the community.”

Raffi Krikorian, who was the former VP of Platform Engineering at Twitter states that secret of his success is in constant progress,

“Actually, I try to learn something new every day.”

He says he wants to live a life to have something to tell to his grandchildren.
